Festival Independencia de Mexico, N.Y, is the official and largest celebration in honor of Mexican Independence in the Northeast, Also known as the 5th Ave. from 44th to 59 streets in the heart of Sunset Park, Brooklyn; One of New York’s most culturally diverse and sought after neighborhoods and is expected be attended by over 75,000 people.
El Festival Independencia de Mexico is a daylong celebration that packs 15 blocks of activities and community based services for the whole family. Hundreds of food and general merchandise vendors, free inflatable rides, face painting, health screenings, live entertainment by folkloric groups, clowns and some of the best local and internationally known talents are only some of the things our tens of thousands of attendees get to enjoy.
This event is as diverse as where is held, Sunset Park, one of New York’s most Latino diverse neighborhoods with residents mainly from Mexico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Colombia and El Salvador among others.
The Festival Indepencia de Mexico (Mexican Ind. Fest) takes place in Sunset Park, one of Brooklyn’s most sought after places to live, a very diverse neighborhood with a very low crime rate and strategically located between two major highways and walking distance to multiple train and bus lines. Sunset Park is also the home to one of the tri state area largest Mexican population. The Festival is alone 5th Ave. Brooklyn, one of New York’s most popular shopping strips for Mexicans because of its large amount of stores that cater to their shopping needs.
